Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
– Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and set aside.
2. Prepare the Strawberry Filling:
– Slice the frozen strawberries into ½ cm pieces and toss with 3 tablespoons of sugar. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves and creates a syrupy consistency.
3. Make the Cake Base:
– In a mixing bowl, combine the cake flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and MATCHAZUKI matcha powder. Add the softened butter and the egg, and knead until the dough is smooth.
– Line an 8-inch round removable-bottom mold with the prepared dough, spreading it evenly on the base. Layer the sweetened strawberries on top of the dough.
4. Prepare the Crumble Topping:
– In a separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar, cake flour, ground almonds, and baking powder. Add the softened butter and use a butter cutter or your hands to combine the mixture until it forms small crumbles.
– Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the strawberry layer.
5. Bake the Crumble:
– Place the assembled crumble into the oven and bake at 175°C for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
6. Make the Green Tea Sauce:
– In a small bowl, combine the fresh milk, hot water, MATCHAZUKI matcha powder, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
– Microwave the sauce for 30 seconds, then stir well to ensure the sauce is thickened and smooth.
7. Serve:
– Once the crumble has finished baking, allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing it into pieces.
– Drizzle the warm green tea sauce over the crumble just before serving.
